Rotomolding Machine is a process method of forming hollow plastic products, also known as rotational molding, rotational molding or rotary molding.
What is the scope of application of Rotomolding Machine?
What are the available raw materials for Rotomolding Machine?
What are the most common types of Rotomolding Machines on the market?
Rotomolding Machines have many applications such as industrial and automotive parts, furniture, material handling equipment, medical devices, toys, etc. Some of the well-known products of rotomolding are as follows.
1. material handling equipment, such as durable crates, stackable trays, containers and insulated boxes, manufactured by rotomolding only
2. Plastic storage tanks, gallon drums and large bottles containing small to large amounts of water and chemicals
3. laboratory and medical supplies, such as syringes, oxygen masks and extruded light bulbs
4. Rotomolding Machine for gardening and agricultural tools for planting, such as planters, troughs, compost bins and garden carts, garbage containers, trash cans, septic tanks and other sanitary items
The polymers commonly used in the Rotomolding Machine are listed below. Most of the polymers used in this process are thermoplastics.
Polyethylene: Polyethylene makes up over 80% of the polymers used in the rotomolding industry. This is due to its low cost and ease of molding. Unlike non-PE polymers, which are difficult to grind, it is readily available in powder form. It also has good chemical resistance and low water absorption.
The grades of polyethylene available for rotation are high density polyethylene (HDPE), low density polyethylene (LDPE), medium density polyethylene (MDPE) and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE).
Polypropylene: Polypropylene is the second most processed plastic and is one of the most versatile polymers available. It has properties that fall between those of LDPE and HDPE. Its important properties are good chemical resistance, heat resistance and fatigue resistance.
Polyvinyl chloride: Polyvinyl chloride is the polymer form of vinyl chloride monomer. It is a strong and hard plastic that is compatible with many additives to modify its mechanical properties.
Nylon: Nylon is derived from the polyamide plastics group. In addition to producing films and fibers, this polymer is used as a molding compound. It is usually tough and has good heat and chemical resistance.
Rotational moulding machines consist of a number of arms mounted on independent turntables that rotate independently around a centre, so that one arm can move to the next job without affecting the position of the other arms and the process. The independent arm configuration allows more flexibility in the forming process.
The rotational moulding machine is a turret type machine with multiple arms on a turntable that can carry moulds and circulate around a central point to continue working on the job. This type of machine is suitable for the production of products with a consistent cycle time because the arms are on one turntable.
Over 15 years experience, SNOWBALL Hangzhou Snowball I/E Co.,Ltd.our two factories focus on manufacture various kind of Rotomolding Machines like shuttle, carrousel, rock and roll machine, as well as rotational moulds and products.
